Brief
The client is a large international corporation had a group of eight employees to be sent from one of its European offices to Australia to provide training as well as product demonstration. The business unit overseas applied directly to the Australian Embassy for business visitor visas. The first two of the eight employees’ applications were approved, with the remaining six applications refused.
Issues
The Department identified the potential issue that the activities to be undertaken by the applicants are not within the scope of business activities. Those employees are required to attend to work in Australia on an urgent basis.
Solved
Assisted with the client’s preparation of the Temporary Work (Short Stay Activity) visa (subclass 400). We contacted the overseas post and provided a business case for priority processing, so that the whole group of eight employees were able to attend to the urgent business needs in Australia.
